⛽ 93 OCTANE — NOW ETHANOL FREE! ⛽

If you drive a BMW, especially an older ///M car, weekend car, collector car, or something that doesn’t get driven every day, this is worth knowing.

The Quality Plus / Shell location on Branchview Drive in Concord now has 93-octane ETHANOL-FREE gasoline, and there are some real benefits for many BMW owners.

✅ 93 octane provides the knock resistance BMW performance engines are designed to take advantage of.

✅ Ethanol-free fuel stores better, making it an excellent choice for weekend cars and vehicles that may sit for weeks at a time.

✅ Less moisture attraction than ethanol-blended fuel.

✅ Better suited to many older BMW fuel systems, where aging hoses, seals and other components weren't originally designed around today's ethanol blends.

✅ Slightly more energy per gallon, which may provide a small improvement in fuel economy compared with E10.

For cars like the E30, E36, E46, E39, Z3, S54, S65 and S85-powered BMWs, we particularly like the idea of a quality 93-octane ethanol-free fuel when available.

What about newer BMWs?

Modern BMWs are designed to safely operate on gasoline containing up to 10% ethanol, so E10 isn't bad fuel. A stock N55, B58, S55, S58, S63 or other modern BMW will run perfectly well on quality 93-octane E10.

Ethanol-free 93 simply gives owners another excellent option.

⚠️ IMPORTANT FOR TUNED CARS: If your BMW is tuned for an ethanol blend such as E30, E40, E50 or E85, do NOT switch to ethanol-free fuel without checking your tune requirements. The ethanol content is part of those calibrations.

And remember — 93 E0 doesn't magically make more horsepower than 93 E10 just because the ethanol is removed. The biggest benefits are storage stability, reduced ethanol exposure and excellent premium-octane fuel quality.

🔥 IT’S HOT. IT’S BUSY. AND COOLING SYSTEM FAILURES ARE EVERYWHERE. 🔥

August heat is putting BMW cooling systems to the test — and with everyone getting back into the school, work and daily-driving routine, this is not the time you want to be stuck on the side of the road.

We’re seeing plenty of:

💧 Coolant leaks
🌡️ Overheating warnings
⚙️ Failed electric water pumps
🔧 Thermostat failures
💨 Cooling fans not working properly
🧯 Cracked hoses, fittings and expansion tanks
❄️ A/C and cooling-system related problems

Don’t ignore a low-coolant warning, temperature warning, coolant smell or puddle under the car. A relatively small cooling-system repair can turn into a much more expensive engine repair if the vehicle is driven while overheating.

And with back-to-school season here, schedules are filling up fast.

📅 If your BMW is due for service, has a coolant warning, or just doesn’t seem to be running as cool as it should, now is a good time to have it checked.
