Chevrolet gave the C10 two notable firsts for 1965: air conditioning appeared on the option sheet, and the 327 V8 joined a lineup that had long leaned on inline-sixes. Comfort and cubic inches showed up the same year. That's when the half-ton started turning into something people drove for fun.

This short bed Fleetside runs with the idea. An LS1 5.7L and 4-speed automatic handle the power, the 12-bolt out back handles the rest, and the A/C is still part of the deal sixty years later. Blue over tan, lowered, front discs, power steering and brakes.

Ford brought the Boss 302 back for 2012, and the Laguna Seca version took its name from a Trans-Am win at that circuit in the 1970 season opener. Ford also handed owners a second key: TracKey, dealer-installed software that swapped in a Ford Racing competition calibration and stripped out the daily-driver throttle and torque management.

This one is a Laguna Seca tribute in Race Red that took the track-ready idea further. A Whipple supercharger and headers feed the 5.0 Coyote, backed by the six-speed manual. Front Brembos, TRT suspension and Recaro seats handle the rest, with 40,757 actual miles showing.

1970 was the year Chevy widened the Blazer's reach, adding a two-wheel-drive version while keeping the K5 badge to avoid confusing buyers. The removable full top stayed part of the formula until 1975. CST meant Custom Sport Truck, the top trim on the shelf before Cheyenne showed up.

This one is a CST in Hugger Orange over houndstooth, and it goes further than any 1970 order sheet allowed. A 427 big block sits up front, backed by a four-speed automatic and a 12-bolt rear. A Rough Country lift sets the stance, and the hard top still lifts off.

The 2+2's slatted rear quarter panels weren't just styling. They fed a ventilation system that drew air out through the back of the cabin. Fastbacks were also the road less traveled in 1966: 35,698 built against 607,568 Mustangs overall, down roughly half from the year before.

This one keeps the shape and rethinks what's under it. Ford's modern Coyote 5.0 sits up front, backed by a 6-speed automatic, a 9-inch rear and QA1 suspension, with Wilwood discs at all four corners. Arcadian Blue over blue vinyl, air conditioning, Bluetooth, and 1,808 miles since the build was finished.
