Better Late Than Never

Day 2 at the 2025 SCCA RallyCross Nationals was a fight! The Focus ZX3 gave us fits with a bad ECU ground causing crank–no–start chaos. Quinn took a tough DNF, but we got it sorted, pushed through, and I held 2nd in class and 4th overall.

Day 1 of the 2025 SCCA RallyCross Nationals @ HollyTree Off Road Park, Alabama!

Quinn and I both ran in Modified Front-Wheel Drive (MF) in the 2000 Ford Focus ZX-3 — each of us getting four runs on Friday, October 17th.

At the end of the day:
🏁 Justin – 2nd in MF, 4th Overall
🏁 Quinn – 9th in MF

We started the morning chasing down a tough crank/no-start issue. The Focus was struggling with low voltage and grounding problems that nearly kept us from making our runs. Turns out the ECU ground connection was the real culprit, but we didn’t confirm that until Saturday.

This video shows our dual onboard footage — one camera inside the car showing driver actions, and another facing forward capturing the full rallycross action.

Today we’re diving into a new customer build: a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse 2G DSM (4G63 Turbo, Front-Wheel Drive). Before adding horsepower or performance mods, we’re focused on reliability and drivability—making sure this Eclipse is solid on the road before chasing boost.

Scott Glassbrook has the Modified Power Adder lead at HOT ROD Drag Week after a Day 4 pass of 8.55 at 161 mph in his RWD-converted Eagle Talon. The single-turbo 4G63 combo is averaging 8.44 so far, with co-pilot Rick Garnaat riding along for the grind.
