Working on a unicorn kinda project for a client; 2004 Jeep LIBERTY! We're replacing his well-loved existing Fox FRS 2.0 series bump sticks with new Fox 2.0 FRS coilover pieces. We had to modify the OEM emulsion style platform to accept a remote reservoir and LSC damper combo and switch to a JM 92 Fox shock oil.
Once machine tooling met aluminum, all bets were off! 😄. While we were at it, we converted the lower mounts from a uni-ball sperichal bearing eyelet to a clamp and saddle setup required to clear the CV shafts. Not your everyday, DIY project!
After a few side-eyed looks, several instances where use of my Navy sub vocabulary were required and some close attention to detail, they turned out absolutely amazing!
I have to point out the first picture; that deep scoring of the cylinder bore is from the FACTORY! Fox really slipped up on this one. I could file my finger nails on the grooves, that's how deep they were. 🤔🤨. Hit it with the 800 grit hone, 5k paper and BETTER THAN NEW! 💥
And YES, it definitely needs an alignment after all the work! Lol. Added new LCAs, unit bearing housings, , UCA spacers and high angle CV shafts.
