Came in for an engine noise. Luckily it had nothing to do with the engine. The bike has an aftermarket larger rotor that was loose as a goose causing the rattling noise. The rotor has been on backorder for a month, but finally got it in and back on the road

As a shop, we try to educate. This wheel came to us for a new tire. But before we got that far, we noticed 3 spokes were completely gone, several others are loose, the fl**ge that centers the belt pulley is broken off the hub, and all the pulley threaded holes are wallered out and missing the majority of threads. But the customer said, put the tire on. When the person taking your money tells you not to do it, please listen for your safety.

Another, name that sound. 2000 injected twin cam touring model. Has unknown motor work, but has manual compression releases. Only 18,000 miles. Excellent shape. After bore scoping the cylinders, the customer has decided against fixing it at this time, so we will never actually know the noise. Both cylinders are trashed and the front cylinder is pushing oil right past the rings and only has 60psi compression. But the noise appears to be coming from the rear cylinder.
