🔧 Lynnzi’s Home Hacks 🏡
Did you know? Your Clayton home is built with interlocking OSB (oriented strand board) floor decking that is glued and nailed for strength and durability.
As your new home settles, it’s completely normal for an occasional nail to work its way up and create a small “nail pop” or squeak.
Here’s what to do:
✅ Don’t panic—this can be a normal part of your home’s settling process.
✅ Place a small piece of wood over the nail pop and gently tap it back down with a hammer. The wood helps protect the flooring while you softly drive the nail back into place.
✅ If the nail continues to pop back up or the floor remains squeaky, contact your Clayton Homes team or your warranty department for further assistance.
Your home is designed to settle as it adjusts to the seasons and foundation, and small items like this are often easy to correct.
