Meanwhile at HXC... 🔧

One car getting some new tires while another prepares to be worked on a few feet away.

No elaborate theme today. No perfectly staged pictures. Just a couple snapshots of what was happening when we walked through the shop. 📸

Around here, there's usually something being diagnosed, repaired, cleaned, adjusted or put back together.

And tomorrow? We'll see what ends up in front of the camera. 👀

In one direction, there's an RB26 with another customer's Nissan Skyline just behind it. Turn around and a car is being guided onto the alignment rack. Around the corner, parts are being cleaned up. Step into the office & there's plenty to look at in there too. 🔍

Different cars. Different jobs. Different stages of the process — and plenty of HXC personality mixed in along the way.

We swapped out our Monday Blues for Purple & Red today 🟣🔴🔧

While the RB26 might be bringing a little extra color to this Monday, it's only one of the many things keeping the shop busy today!

After the timing belt was on, Hans stopped to take a progress photo for the customer. 📸

It's one of those little behind-the-scenes things that doesn't usually make it into the finished-car pictures, but it's a pretty normal part of the work around HXC: do the work, pay attention to the details, and keep the customer in the loop along the way.

Not a bad way to close out August, who's ready for September? 👀

The Friday Fuel bowl heard we were celebrating & made sure to make today's lunch extra special by sending us to G & D Steakhouse — a longtime HXC favorite! ⛽️

Lunch Specials from G&D, homemade birthday cupcakes and, naturally, an RB26 right in the middle of the celebration. 🥳

Of course, being the birthday boy doesn't mean the cars stop coming in. 😂 So after burgers, fries, cupcakes & presents... it's back to a pretty normal Friday around HXC. 🔧

No two cars that come through the doors at HXC are exactly alike — and neither are the things that need our attention. 🔧

Today that might mean spending some time with an RB26, putting a second set of eyes on a car, or simply making sure a tire has the pressure it needs before leaving.

Either way, it's another day of the guys doing what they do and keeping things moving around the shop.

⛽️ Friday Fuel had a little plot twist this week.

We headed over to pick up lunch... and discovered our drawn destination was closed for remodeling. 😅 So, just like we do around the shop when Plan A isn't going to work, we had to come up with a new plan.

Luckily, some of you had already given us one with your guesses yesterday! You may not have guessed the name we actually drew, but a few of you did guess where we ended up — the drive-thru window at Crazy Good Burritos! 🌯

Thanks to Crazy Good Burritos for keeping the HXC crew fueled this Friday! We'll definitely be back soon for some tamales & to try the elote!

And don't worry — that first Friday Fuel draw isn't getting away that easily. Once the remodeling is finished, we'll give it another shot. 😉

They’re just going about their Thursday like normal… little do they know, tomorrow’s Friday Fuel ⛽️ destination has already been decided!

For now, there are tires to take care of, cars to get back on the road. Sometime between now and lunch tomorrow, we'll have see if they can guess with the clue.

Projects like this are a little different from the everyday repairs that come through HXC. There are decisions to make, details to work through, and usually a pretty good story behind how the car got to where it is today — and where the owner wants to take it next.

Our job is to listen, figure out what it'll take to get there, and help turn that idea into reality.

To some it might be another car in the shop. For the person who handed us the keys, it's their project — and we try not to forget the difference. 🚗
