Your fuel pump does a lot more than most drivers realize. ⛽
It sits inside the fuel tank, pushing fuel to the engine at the pressure it needs to keep your car running smoothly. Because gasoline also helps cool and lubricate the pump, constantly driving on empty can put extra stress on it.
Sputtering, hard starts, power loss going uphill, or a whining sound from the tank can all be signs your fuel pump needs attention.
Simple rule: don’t make empty a habit. Keep it above ¼ tank when you can.
