It’s not possible to know the whole story on converters unless cut open, they are welded units some have higher quality internals than others and different stall speeds. Not every manufacturer has stamped the stall on the cover. NEVER use a used converter in your build. Unless you like gambling unless you have a crystal ball. Also using cheap converters from mail order catalogs are iffy at best. We install precision of new Hampton Iowa converters only , they have a great span offering different stall speeds and single or multi clutch converters. Yes that’s correct converters from early 80s on have clutch disc inside for lockup. If you put a single disc converter behind a 500 hp up engine then be prepared to do it all over again soon
