Holy smokes! Check out this incredible time-lapse captured on our Michigan Storm Chasers Weather camera!

Mounted on top of our building at Denning Auto Glass & Calibration, the camera faces west overlooking the Branch County Courthouse and had a front-row seat to the storm that rolled through Coldwater early this afternoon.

Watching the storm develop and move across the sky makes for one impressive time-lapse, and we're excited to be able to share the view from downtown Coldwater.

As always, a huge thank you to the Michigan Storm Chasers. You guys do amazing work, and we're glad to be working with you!



Mother Nature definitely gave the camera something to watch this afternoon.

Windshield is set. What happens next?

For this vehicle, installing the new windshield is only part of the job. Before it leaves Denning Auto Glass & Calibration, it still needs a static ADAS calibration.

Why? Many newer vehicles use a forward-facing camera mounted near the windshield as part of their Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. When the windshield is replaced, that camera's relationship to the glass can change. Recalibration allows the system to establish the proper positioning and aiming specified for the vehicle.

A static calibration is performed with specialized equipment and targets positioned at precise locations while the vehicle remains stationary. It's a technical process, and it's an important step when the vehicle manufacturer requires it following windshield replacement.

That's why we don't consider the job finished simply because the windshield has been installed. When calibration is required, it's part of completing the job properly.

Catching a stone chip while it's still repairable can make a big difference. A proper repair helps preserve the existing windshield and can prevent that small damaged area from spreading into a crack that requires replacement.

Another back glass replacement, and this one meant getting deeper into the vehicle than you might expect.

When back glass shatters, those tiny pieces have a way of finding their way behind panels, underneath trim, and throughout the interior. For this job, we had to tear down portions of the interior so we could reach the areas where all that pesky glass was hiding.

Removing the broken glass is only part of the job. Taking the extra time to access those hard-to-reach areas and clean out as much as possible is an important part of putting the vehicle back together for our customer.

Ten years. Same address. Two completely different photos.

The first photo shows 21 S Hudson Street ten years ago, before Denning Auto Glass & Calibration had officially moved into the building. At the time, we were preparing the space and getting everything ready to begin serving customers from our new location in downtown Coldwater.

Now look at it today.

Ten years later, the transformation goes far beyond what you can see from the street. As the building changed, so did the automotive and auto glass industries, and Denning Auto Glass & Calibration continued to grow right along with them.

Windshield replacement isn't what it was a decade ago. Today's vehicles can have cameras and advanced driver assistance systems connected directly to the windshield, requiring specialized equipment, training, and calibration procedures after the glass is replaced. We've invested in that technology and expanded our capabilities so we can perform both static and dynamic ADAS calibrations right here at 21 S Hudson Street.

Our equipment has changed. Our knowledge has grown. Our capabilities have expanded. We've continued educating ourselves, improving our processes, and adapting to increasingly advanced vehicles while remaining focused on the quality and safety of every installation.

And while these two pictures show just how much can change in ten years, they also represent something that hasn't changed: the commitment we bring to the work performed inside this building and to the people who trust us with their vehicles.

What started as an empty building being prepared for its next chapter has become an established auto glass and calibration shop serving Coldwater and communities throughout Southern Michigan.
