Automotive Dismantler / Depollution Technician
As an Automotive Dismantler / Depollution Technician, you will play a crucial role in the automotive recycling industry. Your primary responsibility will be to dismantle end-of-life vehicles (ELVs) efficiently and safely, ensuring the removal of valuable parts and hazardous materials. You’ll contribute to environmental sustainability by depolluting vehicles and preparing them for recycling.
Responsibilities:
Vehicle Dismantling:
Disassemble ELVs using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
Safely remove components such as engines, transmissions, suspension parts, and electrical systems.
Follow established procedures to minimize damage to reusable parts.
Tag and organize salvaged parts for inventory management.
Depollution:
Drain fluids (engine oil, coolant, transmission fluid, etc.) from vehicles.
Properly handle and dispose of hazardous materials, including batteries, airbags, and refrigerants.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations during depollution processes.
Quality Control:
Inspect salvaged parts for quality and functionality.
Identify reusable components and separate them from non-reusable materials.
Maintain accurate records of dismantled vehicles and salvaged parts.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Follow guidelines for handling hazardous substances.
Comply with workplace safety regulations and best practices.
Equipment Maintenance:
Maintain and clean tools and equipment regularly.
Report any malfunctioning tools or safety hazards to supervisors.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in automotive dismantling, salvage yards, or related fields preferred.
Knowledge of vehicle systems, components, and mechanical processes.
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and cutting equipment safely.
Familiarity with environmental regulations related to vehicle depollution.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy parts.

Salary: $15.00 - $22.40 per hour
