Road Trip!!
''I'm the first Indian woman who ever motorcycled from the south of India to the north, a total journey of 5,453 kilometers. Many people warned me that it would be dangerous and told me not to go. I knew it could be dangerous, especially for a girl traveling alone, but my motivation was stronger than my fear.
Before I left, I took a few martial arts classes and made sure to carry a knife and pepper spray with me at all times. Luckily, I never had to use them.
For my own safety, I had the the rule to never ride my motorcycle at night. However, one time it took me longer than expected to reach my destination, and I ended up riding in the dark through a dangerous area. The road was full of holes but stopping would have been even more dangerous.
I remember being scared, but there was a voice in my head telling me that if I survived this experience, it would make me stronger. I managed to control myself mentally by slowly repeating to myself inside my helmet: “Just a few more kilometers and you will be fine. You can do this.” And I did.
After 10 days I finally arrived at my destination. At the time, I felt very little excitement. That changed when my family and friends called to congratulate me. That's when I realized that I had finished.
The best part is that other girls are now also making this road trip by themselves. I am proud that I finished, but I am even more proud that I paved the way for others.''
