π§ Tech Tip Tuesday π§
Think only water and dirt can cause electrical problems? Think again.
This week we found ants inside a TIPM, also known as the Totally Integrated Power Module. The TIPM acts as a central hub for many of your vehicle's electrical systems, controlling components like fuel pumps, cooling fans, lights, wipers, and more.
In this case, the ants made themselves at home inside the module and created a path between electrical circuits. That caused a short circuit and led to system malfunctions that can be difficult to diagnose without proper testing.
Modern vehicles rely heavily on electronics, and even something as unexpected as insects can create major issues. If you're experiencing strange electrical problems, warning lights, intermittent no start conditions, or accessories that work one minute and not the next, a professional inspection can help pinpoint the cause.
