Here we go again…..I have really tried to exercise some patience and grace, but there’s only so much one person can take.

If you recognize any of these folks, please feel free to tag them or show them this post.
To the gentleman carrying the chair in the dark shirt, I would greatly appreciate you stopping by to clean up your mess. We open for business at the glass shop at 8:00 am on Monday and I don’t want my customers seeing what you left behind.
To the other three that are pictured, thanks for checking on your comrade, but my property is not a place for you to smoke what you were smoking.
If you haven’t figured out by now, I have a LOT of cameras around my property, and there is video of everything that happens on it.
Bistecca weekend has been a point of contention each and every year. I have only ever asked for respect while on someone else’s property, but each year we continue to have problems. Please have some respect for yourself and others….

This post is an attempt to clear up any confusion and misinformation regarding BisteccaGolf weekend.

As we posted last year, we have had issues in the past with people parking inconsiderately on our property while enjoying what is likely the largest golfing event of the year at Matthews Park Golf Course. Thank you to everyone who shared, posted, liked, or commented on our post from last year.

First of all, up to this point I have never stated that people could not park on our property after normal business hours. There are a few rules or courtesies that we ask if you do decide to park on Professional Glass property:
1. Park at your own risk. We are not responsible for your vehicle while it is parked on our property.
2. During normal business hours, our parking spots are reserved for customers conducting business. We are not open on Saturday or Sunday, so this should not affect anyone this weekend.
3. DO NOT BLOCK our entrances. We have placed additional signage around the property this year to be clear on the areas you cannot park in.
4. DO NOT BLOCK access to the storage units. Our customers have a right to access their unit without someone parking in the aisleway.
5. Our property is not a trash can nor a restroom. I will not tolerate littering or public urination. Nothing else needs to be said about these issues, although this has been an issue in the past.
6. All activities on our property are recorded. We have excellent security cameras around our facility and can clearly see if any of these rules are being disobeyed. A huge shout out to Chad Lindsay of Chad’s Communications Solutions LLC for the amazing cameras and IT network!

I was informed last year that a few people didn’t find our post appropriate, and it was even reported to at least one group moderator as ‘harassment’. Just to clear the air, and let me be clear; THIS IS PRIVATE PROPERTY. For three generations of the Blackburn family, we have extended the COURTESTY of allowing people to park on our property and enjoy the golf course. Please don’t make me rethink this idea. I am simply asking for your cooperation and common courtesy while on someone else’s property.

I would like to thank the Bistecca Committee for coming and speaking to me last week. We had a candid discussion regarding issues surrounding the event, and they were even kind enough to provide additional support and traffic cones to help communicate areas not to park in.

Since 1967, we have been proud to be a part of this community. Through three generations, we have always tried to serve our customers and be a good neighbor. But sometimes we need your help....

We have tried to be tolerant during but I feel the need to address an ongoing issue during this golf event. Please be respectful of our property and access.

We have had issues in the past, and today as well, with people blocking access to the entrances at our facility and storage units. It is critical to keep these areas clear and we post signs every year to remind people using our facility to park and enjoy this yearly event.

You might be wondering, “Why does this matter so much?” Please take a second and step in our shoes:
1. Each one of those storage units on the north side of our property is rented. Each tenant has a right to access their space and belongings. I have had customers contact me over the years upset that they cannot get to their unit because people have chosen to park right in the middle of the drive (see the attached pictures).
2. We have a business to operate...even when it’s not during our normal hours. We have an emergency service and someone is generally on call. Our service vehicles are inside of those garage doors that you might have parked in front of. We had a case 3 years ago where I was called out to fix a broken piece of glass and EVERY ONE of our trucks were blocked in. As you can see from the other pictures, two of my trucks were blocked today when I drove by.

The reason for this post is simple; please treat our property like it was your own. I don’t think a single one of you reading this would appreciate me blocking your driveway, leaving trash in your yard, or urinating on the side of your house (yes...this has been a problem in the past.....). We sincerely appreciate your cooperation!
