Back in the carburetor days...

This was often true.

Cold engines needed time to warm up properly.

But modern fuel-injected vehicles are different.

💥 MYTH BUSTED! 💥

Most modern vehicles only need:

✅ 30–60 seconds

before driving.

The fastest way to warm up a modern engine isn't idling in the driveway...

🚗 It's driving gently.

Why?

Because:

⚙️ The engine warms up faster
⚙️ The transmission warms up faster
⚙️ Fuel economy improves
⚙️ Less fuel is wasted

Now don't misunderstand...

❄️ On very cold mornings, letting the engine stabilize for a minute is smart.

But sitting for 10–15 minutes every day?

For decades, this was the rule.

3,000 miles.
Every time.

No exceptions.

But vehicles, oils, and engines have changed.

💥 MYTH BUSTED! 💥

Many modern vehicles using quality synthetic oil can often go:

✅ 5,000 miles
✅ 7,500 miles
✅ 10,000 miles

And some vehicles even use oil-life monitoring systems that adjust service intervals based on driving conditions.

But here's where people get confused...

Not every vehicle is the same.

Things that can shorten oil life:

🚛 Heavy towing
🏁 Performance driving

🤔 Sounds right...

But is it?

💥 MYTH BUSTED! 💥

The truth is:

Fuel octane is not a quality rating.

It's a measure of a fuel's resistance to engine knock.

If your owner's manual recommends:

⛽ 87 Octane

Using 91 or 93 octane usually won't give you:

❌ More horsepower
❌ Better fuel economy
❌ Longer engine life

You're simply paying for octane your engine may not need.

However...

If your vehicle requires premium fuel:

🏁 High-performance engines
🏁 Turbocharged engines
🏁 Supercharged engines

Then using lower octane fuel can:

⚠️ Reduce performance
⚠️ Cause engine knock
⚠️ Trigger computer timing adjustments
