Fun Fact Friday: Ever feel like your car has a mind of its own? Whatever it does, it can't be as bad as Christine, our Octobermobile Car of the Week. By 1983, the '58 Plymouth Fury was already so rare John Carpenter had to dress up Belvedere and Savoy models for coverage in certain shots!

Fun Fact Friday, Octobermobiles Edition Part 1! Did you know the Munster's owned two different Dragulas, and both were fully functional dragsters? The original cost was $15,000 to produce, over $150,000 when adjusted for inflation.

Has there been a more definitive Halloween car than the Munster's Dragula? We're not so sure. Let us know in the comments and we might spotlight your pick next week!

NEW ARTICLE: Essential special service tools look like hardware, but they're really the last step in a string of engineering decisions that define how a product will be diagnosed, repaired and kept in service for the next fifteen years?

Ralph Pompea explains why the tool is not the starting point, how OEMs define essential tools, and the commercial models that fund them.

MotorTrend went looking for the best in-car AI assistant of 2026... and gave the award to no one. They found the popular assistants "know nothing about" the vehicles they're installed in.

Eight months later, major OEMs are announcing contextually-aware assistants driven by VIN-specific owner information. Of course, not every OEM has a Google partnership or an in-house AI team.

Luckily, Tweddle Group's AVA draws on official, OEM sanctioned, VIN-specific product info. AVA also communicates with the vehicle's CAN bus, so when a warning light comes on, AVA knows exactly what it means, right now, on the car you're driving.

MotorTrend said someone should train an assistant on actual owner's manual content.

And we couldn't agree more.

AVA is in OEM pilots now.

Every truck looks perfect on the stand at IAA.

Question is, what happens in Year Three, when it's in a bay in Lyon with a fault code nobody's ever seen and a technician trained on diesel?

That's the part we handle.

Our Business Development Manager (EMEA) Wouter Ollevier is in Hannover 17 and 18 September.

If your aftersales side has a "year three" problem, let's talk.

Compatibility issues between hardware and software can turn a simple flash into extended vehicle downtime.

But one proactive check can prevent the whole thing, with a secure access layer that satisfies UN R155/R156 security requirements, and data capture designed to make maintenance more predictive.

Ralph Pompea lays it all out in Software-Defined Vehicle Service: Part 4 of the Service Readiness Series. Link in comments.
