It’s late, but here’s our final Tech Tuesday! (We have one more technician, Dustin, but he doesn’t want to be on Facebook and we respect that!)

Tech Tuesday Spotlight:
Meet Keaton Shifley, our hardworking technician apprentice who’s learning the ropes (and the wrenches) with the best crew in town!
Keaton has been with us for under a year, but is already crushing it! He is picking things up quickly and proving every day why he’s a great fit for the team. At just 21 (he celebrated his birthday last month!), he’s already got 2½ years in the automotive field under his belt. He’s wanted to work on cars for as long as he can remember.
When he’s not under a hood, you’ll find him hanging out with his girlfriend and his dog. Family life includes one dog, one cat, and two siblings.
Fun fact: this guy loves donuts and apple fritters. (All things sweet if we’re being honest 😂)

Meet Matt Wade!
We’re shining the spotlight this week on Matt Wade, who has been an awesome addition to our team for a little over a year now. With 15 years of experience in the auto field, Matt brings a ton of knowledge and skill to everything he does.
When he’s not at work, Matt enjoys life with his girlfriend Ashleigh and his three daughters — Brileigh, Charleigh, and Kayleigh. He’s also the proud pet parent of Beau, their adorable Boston Terrier.
In his free time, you’ll likely find him outdoors — he loves hiking, camping, fishing, and hunting.
Thanks for all you do, Matt — we’re lucky to have you on the team! 💪

Tech Tuesday!
Today let’s meet Bryan Cox, who is also celebrating his 1 year anniversary at Smith Automotive today! 🎉

Bryan is originally from New Jersey and transplanted to beautiful Tennessee a few years ago. Bryan’s been working on cars for over 30 years! That’s not experience… that’s practically a lifetime warranty! Bryan is also our resident Mercedes expert and the go to guy with hard to diagnose issues!
When he’s not tackling issues under the hood, you’ll find him riding motorcycles, fishing, or talking guns- which classifies him as an honorary Southerner in our book!
Bryan has been married to his amazing wife, Amber, since 2001. They have one grown son, Cody (who still lives in the Garden State) and Bryan makes sure to visit him as often as he can!
If you think Bryan’s just a car guy, think again. He and Amber are big into animal rescue, mostly cats. In fact, they helped rescue and rehome a young stray cat from right here at the shop! They also have their own crew of critters at home- Oakley, Whiskey, Rye, and Jolene.
Bryan, thanks for bringing your skills, talents, and cat rescue abilities to the team this year! We’re better because you’re here.

Tech Tuesday: Meet Billy Pilkey!
Billy Pilkey, one of our passionate automotive technicians here at Smith Automotive, comes to us from Athens, Tennessee. Billy has been involved in the world of automotive repair since 1999. He’s been a key part of the Smith Automotive team since 2016 (with just a couple of brief gaps along the way). He brings expertise and dedication to every job he tackles.
When he’s not working on vehicles, Billy is a devoted family man. He’s been by the side of the lovely Crystal for 22 years and they made it official in 2022. Together they’re raising their beautiful, spunky 2.5-year-old daughter Eleanor, who keeps them on their toes! At home, he’s also a proud dog dad to Shih Tzu-Tobey and Maltese-Precious.
His all-time favorite car is his legendary Skyline R34, and you’ll often find him rebuilding cars and engines just to see how much power he can pull out of them. When he’s not doing that, he enjoys car shows, racing, or diving into anything else car-related! Family time is always at the top of his list too.
We’re incredibly proud to have Billy on our team. He’s a talented, reliable, and all-around wonderful employee who pours his passion into every project. Thanks for everything you do, Billy!
