Our practice schedule is locked in for the next two weeks! Please note that we will be holding Practice Only on the upcoming Sundays (no racing) as our core track volunteers are out of town traveling for work.

The rain simply got the best of us this weekend! Between the heavy downpours and lightning, the track is completely soaked, muddy, and currently unsafe for practice and racing.

Please note that beginning in November, our schedule will change due to the Tanglewood Festival of Lights impacting park access hours:

Weekday activities will be paused.
Weekend schedules shift earlier: Practice will begin at 12:00 PM (Noon), with Racing to follow at 1:00 PM.

A USA BMX Membership is required to take part in track activity. Free One-Day Memberships are available at registration for first-time riders.

Great news! The rain largely missed the track, and the surface is dry and we will be riding today with an afternoon of practice and racing.

🏁 TANGLEWOOD BMX – WEEKLY SCHEDULE UPDATE 🏁

Well, Mother Nature is clearly winning this week! Between all the rain we’ve been getting, the track needs a serious break.

Here is the schedule for this week:

📅 THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 24: CLOSED 🌧️🚫

The track is currently a muddy mess. Unless you’re looking to practice mud wrestling instead of BMX, we are closed today.

And seriously... before you ask, please go ahead and check your radar systems. 🛰️🌧️ If it looks like a monsoon on your screen, it definitely feels like one here!

📅 SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 27: CLOSED 🚫

We are also closed this Sunday. Our core group of track volunteers will be out of town this weekend, and without staff, we can't open the facility safely.

We appreciate your understanding as our volunteers take some much-needed time off!

We want to send a massive shout-out and wish GOOD LUCK to all the Tanglewood riders competing in the Southeast Gold Cup Finals at Blanchard Woods BMX this weekend!

We will be closed this weekend as the Tanglewood crew is heading south!

The NC State Championships are taking place at Hornets Nest BMX in Charlotte. We encourage all of our riders to make the trip, compete, and support their fellow North Carolina racers! Good luck to everyone racing!

⛈️ TRACK UPDATE ⛈️

Unfortunately, we are CLOSED TODAY, Sunday, Sept 13, 2026, due to significant overnight rain. The track is too saturated and wet to ride.

We will continue to monitor the track conditions, but the forecast is looking good for practice on Thursday,September 17th. Stay dry and safe, and we hope to see you back out here soon!

Unfortunately, the weather is not on our side. Between the rainfall over the past several days and the line of storms in the area, the track is completely saturated.

All scheduled activities for today, including Open Practice (4-5 PM) and Racing, are CANCELLED.

Next activity will be open practice from 5:45pm - 7:15pm on Thursday, September 10. See you at the track soon!
