Some voices become part of the soundtrack of our lives, and Dolly Parton’s was certainly one of them.

The world is mourning the loss of the beloved country music legend, who has passed away at the age of 80. From “Jolene” and “9 to 5” to “I Will Always Love You,” Dolly created songs that crossed generations and reached far beyond country music.

But her legacy was never limited to the stage. Through her Imagination Library, she helped put hundreds of millions of books into the hands of children around the world. She gave generously, loved deeply, held tightly to her faith, and never forgot where she came from.

Dolly Parton gave us laughter, kindness, unforgettable music, and a reminder that you could shine brightly without dimming the light of anyone else.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends, and the millions of people who loved her.

Rest in peace, Dolly. Your beautiful voice may be gone, but the love and joy you shared will live on for generations.

Good to know!!!

Turns out Texans have been tinkering with more than trucks and barbecue pits.

A microchip from Dallas helped usher in the modern electronic age. Waco gave us Dr Pepper. A Dallas secretary came up with Liquid Paper. Another Dallas inventor decided margaritas needed a machine. And Texas Instruments helped put calculators right in the palm of our hands.

For a state known for cattle, oil, and wide-open spaces, we sure have spent a lot of time inventing stuff the rest of the world ended up using.

Just Texas leaving fingerprints on everything again.
