Main two types of general camper construction:

— “Stick and tin”. Which typically has a wood framed wall construction with aluminum panels on the exterior and seen more on travel trailers.

- Fiberglass type campers— typically have an aluminum framed wall construction with fiberglass panels on the exterior.

Everyone has an opinion on what’s the best type.

Some choose one over the other for aesthetics, some for price and some for other reasons. It just depends on what you are looking for.

Travel trailers—

pulled behind a tow vehicle such as a car, SUV or truck— many different floor plans, layouts, designs and price point.

— if you already have a tow vehicle, make sure you double check what it actually able to pull safely before purchasing one that is too heavy.

Why go camping you ask?

There is something different about being out in nature; being outdoors, surrounded by pine trees, hearing birds chirping or the sound of waves crashing against the beach, getting to meet new people or just make memories with family and friends.

Some folks buy campers to stay in part-time or if they are from out-of-state and come visit for a while and some just use them on the weekend.
Regardless of how you use it, it is worth experiencing at least once in your life. If you aren't in a place to purchase one at this point, at least rent one and see what it's like. Sometimes taking a chance is worth the risk, you never know what you may encounter and with all of the campgrounds and RV parks and family driveways you can utilize, it's worth making memories because they last a lifetime.

Camping is not just about taking an RV on the road. It’s more than that. It’s important to make memories, whether it’s with family, friends or just a couple. In our family, the Browns, it has been a way of life for a long time. From the humble beginnings of my parents starting their own RV business, to my grandfather working alongside my Dad and now our generation.
So, even if you are hesitant, just try it out, at least once and if you really enjoy it and want one of your own, stop by and chat. We would like to hear your stories and share your experiences! (Pic is of my sister and I) long long ago.

Check out one of our local favorites. https://pinellas.gov/parks/fort-de-soto-park/ ''Growing up in Pinellas County, we have had many fond memories of camping here, from when I was young with our church group and also more recently with our own 4 kids, campfires, fishing and more,'' per G. Brown. There is a lot to offer here for couples and families. It's always good to make reservations in advance or call to check availability.

Fort De Soto park offers a wealth of bird life, sea life, wildlife and plant life across five interconnected islands. Swim, fish, visit the dog park or the museum. There's plenty to do!
