Scrambled,

Today was a good day for Scrambled,
Main bearing clearances are dialed in!

It took some moving of the bearing shells around to achieve a balanced clearance but they are all sitting at .0020.

Once that was done I pulled it all back apart and removed the crankshaft and cleaned out all the bearing saddles, shells, and crankshaft.

The cam shaft I had the machine shop set up so no worries with it.

Next up is cam and crank install!

Cheers,

Scrambled,

Today was fun till I realized I made an oops!

I miss read the specs and used plastic gauge of the wrong size so when I went to check bearing Clarence everything was way tight👀

Well at least I got some good practice with the torque and angle wrench, always a bright side! 😉

Also the head gaskets finally come in. 🤞I did the math correctly. Time will tell….

Cheers,

Rusty took its first ride of pride on the trailer,
I didn’t want to risk burning up the transmission.
Super weird issue, the transmission cooler inside the radiator popped and let coolant and transmission fluid mix and off course made a mess.

The Post Bar & Grill

They hosted their first car show so I drove Rusty up on it’s first major drive since being rescued.

Found some issues🙃
Popped a leak in the transmission cooler.

It feels good to be driving a Jeep again!❤️

The Tundra got some love while getting new tires for Rusty.

I was able to round up a set of chrome 8 spokes!
These will clean up nicely and look awesome!

Scrambled,

Rounded up a set of doors, granted they need done work on the skins but the arches are not rusted and wing windows are intact.

I also rounded up a CJ grill for some wall art.

Rusty,
Today’s fun was diving into the rear leaf springs, they are very tired and driver side has broken leaf’s. The only thing holding it together was the helper spring a previous owner had added.
I am amazed that all the bolts and nuts came loose without breaking!

I’ll be going back together tomorrow after I pick up some new shackles, bolts, nuts, and bushings.
