Clarksville High Junior Wins a New Car During Pass and Go

Clarksville, Tenn. (August 6, 2022) -- Michael Vezeau could not stop smiling after learning he won a new car at the 14th annual Wyatt Johnson Automotive Pass and Go event. Vezeau, a Clarksville High School junior, threw his arms up in victory after his key started the Hyundai Accent on Sat., Aug. 6. “I’m just shocked. I didn’t even know this was possible,” he said.

Over 600 CMCSS high school students, who passed 869 exams, qualified for the event hosted by the Clarksville-Montgomery County Education Foundation. Vezeau was randomly selected as the ultimate winner.

“Hard work pays off,” he said. Vezeau admitted the AP classes took hard work and dedication. When he learned that Pass & Go was a possibility after putting in all of the efforts, it was a welcome reward.

Each year, CMCSS sophomore, junior, and senior students who have passed their AP exams with a 3, 4, or 5 are invited to participate in Pass & Go. Students receive numbered tickets and are eligible for prizes ranging from gas cards to a brand-new car.

The grand prize winner had the choice between a brand new 2022 Hyundai Accent or a 2022 Kia Rio. “Wyatt Johnson is proud to sponsor the Pass and Go event each year,” said Brian Burkeen, Wyatt Johnson General Manager. “It is important we continue to support the students and the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System.”

Over 25 students walked away from the day with various prizes, including gift cards to Domino’s Pizza, gas cards from Beach Oil, a Google Chromebook, an iPad, and Apple AirPods.

“The Clarksville-Montgomery County Education Foundation exists to support the improvement of public education,” said Robin Burton, Executive Director of the Education Foundation. “By providing CMCSS students programs and initiatives such as Pass & Go, we contribute to student achievement.”

Just a reminder, that for every vehicle sold during the month of April, we will donate a portion of the proceeds to help fund the Green Interchange. 🌳

Our planet does so much to take care of us. We believe it’s all of our responsibility to return the favor. That’s why to celebrate Earth Day this year, for every vehicle sold from our dealership, we will donate a portion of the proceeds to the Green Interchange, a local nonprofit dedicated to planting trees here in our community and beyond. Each tree planted will help offset carbon emissions from each car sold.

Please join us in congratulating Dwayne Brown on his 40th Anniversary at Wyatt Johnson!

Dwayne is the Fixed Operations Director for the Wyatt Johnson Automotive Group and the longest serving full-time employee.

Dwayne began his journey with the Wyatt Johnson Company at their original dealership, Wyatt Johnson Chrysler-Plymouth-Dodge. Dwayne stocked the parts warehouse and ran deliveries among other duties. As Wyatt Johnson grew by adding more dealerships so did Brown’s career. He was promoted to Parts Manager and then quickly ascended to Parts Director. In 2011, Dwayne was named Director of Fixed Operations, where Dwayne oversees all aspects of the parts and service departments for all nine Wyatt Johnson locations in Clarksville and Nashville.

Wyatt Johnson Dealer Principal, Katherine Johnson Cannata, and other executives from the company’s corporate headquarters in Clarksville will be honoring Dwayne for his four-decade tenure.

“We’re excited to celebrate Dwayne reaching the 40th anniversary milestone,” said Cannata. “Dwayne embodies the traits that help make Wyatt Johnson a leader in our community: dedication, commitment to service, and treating others the way you want to be treated. He’s a great role model for future generations of Wyatt Johnson employees and we’d like to personally thank him for his daily contributions to our company.”
