I know I haven't posted in a long time. I've been super busy with my regular 9-5. This post is a little more personal, especially as we are nearing a pivotable point in our times. As everyone is aware, we are in a midst of a presidential election in the next two and a half weeks. I do believe that everyone who can vote, should exercise that right and vote. Just know that I will never impose my political views on anyone or judge anyone that has differing political views. I hate all politicians equally....lol. All jokes aside, I strongly believe in the first amendment and the freedoms of each individual citizen. As a veteran, I've supported the fight against regimes that want to dismantle this great nation. But what I'm seeing now, is a great divide between Americans over politics. Just remember guys, we can have differing views and still have respect for our fellow man. I urge everyone to vote for policies that align with your personal beliefs, and not for a "hatred" for a certain person or party. I'm not going to tell you who to vote for, but I encourage everyone who can vote to vote. And during this time, just be nice and respectful to one another. And here at Hodge's Garages, I thank everyone who has used me for their repair/maintenance services. I consider a good majority (maybe 98%, I've had a few not so great people, but definitely a very very few, less than 5) friends/family. Thank you for your support for the past 2 years and I hope to see y'all down the road.

Customer said that their left headlight was out a few months ago. When I first looked at it, the housing was burnt with exposed wiring. Customer was able to get another lens. Front fascia had to be detached to get to one bolt. Now she wants to replace the right side to match the left.

This Jeep Wrangler wouldn't change temperature. Blowing ice cold. Normally this wouldn't be a bad thing, however, sometimes in February, you don't want your HVAC system to blow ice cold, you want it to produce some heat. Went to checking and noticed the blend door actuator wasn't responding. Replaced the blend door, and boom, started working again. Now she has heat and it's now almost 80° out here. Well, at least next winter it'll have heat lol.

This 2019 Nissan Sentra, the neighbor accidently ran into the rear bumper. Well, she had contacted me to see if it could look at it and replace the bumper. Now, I do not paint and such, but I can at least do the physical stuff. Upon replacing the bumper, noticed that the left rear fender guard was broken. Once that came came in, slapped that bad boy on. Tail lights had to come off to replace the bumper. Once the bumper gets painted, I have two more pieces to install and she'll be 100% done.

This 2010 Chrysler Town and Country transmission was acting funny, slipping, shuttering between first and second gear. The customer immediately was thinking about transmission replacement. I said, hold up, wake a minute. Let's at least try and change out the fluid and filter and see what happens. Also added a bottle of Lucas oil to try and prolong the transmission. Did find some slight sparklies in the pan, but nothing alarming for over 200,000 miles. On immediate test drive, it shifted ok, but still shuttered between first and second. Customer did say that it seems to be driving better after a couple of days. That Lucas oil is thicker than a snicker, so it might have just needed some time to cycle through the transmission.

2016 GMC Acadia. Running rough random misfire. Through the scan tool, noticed that cylinders #1 and #6 were misfiring. So I recommended with 123,000 miles on it too at minimum do a tune-up and change the coils while we're there. Ok these vehicles, the intake manifold has to come off to access the #2 bank coils and plugs. A set of coils, plugs, and intake gaskets, she's running better than she had been in a long while.

This 95 Jeep Cherokee (XJ) just wouldn't start. All you heard was a clunk. Was getting main power to the starter and power through the ignition. So one starter later, and she runs. Now hears the kicker. This was my customer's daughter's ex's stepdad's vehicle that she was borrowing. Stepdad wanted her to buy it. I didn't take a whole bunch of pictures at the time, but my customer stated they wanted $4,000 for this rusted, damaged, Frankenstein of an XJ. Roof has been damaged due to a tree falling on top of it, and if you now anything about unibody vehicles, the roof is structurally important. We just fixed it to get it running so they could give it back and good riddance.
