is a locally owned and operated business purchased by Luke and Jenna McClarnon. In June of 1980, Bob Johnson and Charlie Richardson opened Johnson Tire and Muffler in Clarinda, Iowa. In 1988, Johnson retired allowing Charlie and his wife Connie Richardson to purchase the store. They continued business until October of 2002 when a fire destroyed the building they were operating from. On October 27t

h, 2003, Charlie and Connie moved into their new facility at 123 South 16th Street! On December 1st, 2015 Charlie and Connie sold Johnson Tire and Muffler to Luke and Jenna McClarnon. As of December 1st, 2015, I (Luke) have been operating as Johnson Tire and Service, Inc. "Service" really describes what we do on a day to day basis a lot better, and the muffler business has really fallen out. Charlie has been a great mentor to me and I know I could not have done it without him! I stride everyday to service the customers as well as he has for the past 35 years!
