A lot of folks ask if they should store equipment with or without fuel. I prefer to leave just a small amount of fuel in the system, making sure to add some fuel stabilizer. At the start of the next season, just fill up the tank with fresh fuel and you should be good. If you plan to store equipment greater than one season, I'd recommend you drain the tank and run the engine completely out of fuel though.

Lots of boat winterizations. That time of year again. It will be snowing before you know it.

Well did eveyone's mower start? We've been getting a few in. Outboards too. If you have any issues, it's always a good idea to start by trying fresh fuel.

Outboard owners. If you notice water or milky colored l**e in your lower unit you probably have failing seals. Best way to check seal condition is with a pressure test. For a limited time, have us change your lower unit gear oil and we will perform a pressure check at no charge.

OK, that was one loooooooong winter. Time to dust off those outboards and mowers. Old fuel always seems to be an issue. Topping off tanks before that first fire-up helps.

Attention Outboard users up here in 'da tundra. We are reaching daily low temps in the hard freeze range. It's important that you do not try to turn your outboard over during these times as any motor rotation will likely tear up your water impeller. We'll be glad to replace the impeller, years from now, after if wears out. No need to do it any sooner.

Here's something to ponder.......Does fuel stabilizer go bad, and if so, is there an additive that will make it last longer...........????????;-)

Don't forget to winterize that lawn mower too. A little fuel stabilizer in the tank and a quick fogging will go a long way to avoid problems in the spring.

Finally gave up the ghost and Winterized my two rigs this weekend. For those diehards that keep your rig going 'till the water gets hard, remember to tip your motor completely up and then return it the vertical run position after use. This will reduce the amount of water in the cooling system lessening the chance of freeze damage.

Say it ain't so! The end of summer and some folks are putting their boats away for the season. One question that often gets asked is , "Should I store my motor with the lower unit full or empty." We recommend you store your boat with the lower unit filled with fresh l**e. See our discussion board for complete details.
