Lightening project complete. Removed 50 ilbs from the car installing an aluminum 3rd member housing, Optic Armor windshield and rear glass, fiberglass dash along with a Racepak digital dash. My buddy Tom fabricated rear leaf spring sliders to help with traction and we removed the inner fenders. Replacing them with front down bars that we tied into the roll cage. Pam and I went to Las Vegas for the Fling race to do some testing. Car ran good, went 6.30 in the 1/8 mile on the motor no nitrous. Our sons kidney recipient Richard came out and helped, changing spark plugs and brought breakfast, thanks Richard

Had a good time at the NPK race in Phx. Have to say I’m not a fan of no prep, had to peddle the car several times to keep it straight. Before we went Pam and I added 200 ilbs to the rear, thanks Roger Fillebrown for the weights, adjusted the suspension for a no prep surface but still got loose when the power came in. I’m sure with more tuning we could improve but I prefer a prepped surface. Aside from that we won first round and lost in the second by half a car. I feel had I upped the power for the second round it would have been closer if not a win but I didn’t want to wreck the car again so I left it alone. A big thanks to crew members Pam and Zakai, this was Zakai first time as a crew member and he did a fantastic job.

Update on the Snot Rocket. The body work is done. Replaced the fender with a new one. We tackled the quarter panel with a come- along and a Porta Pump then took it to Bob Davis and he did the finale body work. Bob did a great job, considering the damage, now onto paint. Installed a Anti Roll Bar at McCabe racing which should keep the axle level. Next race is the NPK Street Outlaws race in Phx Nov 17 and 18 running in the locals small tire class
