Tips for preparing your vehicle for winter: Tires

Worn tires will be of little use in winter weather. Examine tires for remaining tread life, uneven, wearing, and cupping. Check the side walls for cuts and nicks. If your existing tires are in bad shape, replace them with a new set and get an alignment.

Check the tire pressure once a month. Rotate them as recommended.

Don’t forget to check the pressure in the spare tire and make sure the jack is in good condition.

Tips for preparing your vehicle for winter: Cooling Systems

When was the last time you had a coolant flush?

The cooling system (antifreeze) should be completely flushed and refilled about every 24 to 36 months. The level, condition and concentration of the coolant should be checked periodically.

Never remove the radiator cap until the engine has thoroughly cooled!

Also, the tightness and condition of dry belts, clamps, and hoses should be checked by a professional.
