This 1992 Ford Mustang LX notchback spent time with a single owner in storage in New York until the selling dealer’s acquisition in 2025, and it now shows 140 miles. SELLER'S DESCRIPTION

This 1988 Ford Mustang is #379 of approximately 700 examples modified by Saleen Autosport for the model year and was delivered new to Avis Ford of Southfield, Michigan. The car is finished in Dark Grey Metallic over grey cloth and is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 mated to a five-speed manual transmission and limited-slip differential. Saleen additions include 16β€³ basketweave wheels, a 3.55:1 axle ratio, upgraded suspension and brakes, front and rear spoilers, sport seats, a Hurst shifter, a Pioneer cassette stereo, and a MOMO steering wheel. This example is one of six built for the model year with these colors and options. The current owner acquired the car on BaT in November 2021, and subsequent work consisted of recharging the air conditioning system, installing four tires, and replacing the heater core and battery. This Fox-body Mustang shows 84k miles and is offered on dealer consignment with a Pennsylvania title.

Finished in Dark Grey Metallic (1D), the exterior was modified by Saleen with a rear spoiler, revised front and rear fascias, side skirts, and silver tri-tone side graphics. The Saleen build number can be seen on the left side of the front bumper, and Saleen and Racecraft Suspension logos were added to the exterior. The Carfax Report notes an accident in September 1990 that resulted in β€œmoderate damage” to the front of the car. The prior owner noted that the right-front fender was replaced in addition to paintwork performed. The clearcoat on the roof shows wear.

The car is equipped with five-lug hubs and 16β€³ mesh alloy wheels with grey centers, polished lips, and Saleen-logo center caps. Falken Azenis RT660 tires were installed in 2026 and measure 225/50 at each corner. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel, powered-assisted disc brakes. Saleen suspension upgrades included unique springs, strut top bearings, urethane sway bar bushings, Monroe Formula GP shocks, and a horizontal axle damper.

The Flo-Fit bucket seats trimmed in two-tone gray cloth with red accents along with Saleen-branded door panels and floor mats. Amenities include power windows and locks, air conditioning, and an optional Pioneer Super Tuner III AM/FM cassette stereo with a graphic equalizer and six speakers. A serialized Saleen plaque is mounted ahead of the shifter, which is equipped with a Saleen k**b and a Hurst short-throw shifter. The air conditioning system was recharged in preparation for the sale.
A leather-wrapped MOMO steering wheel frames a 170-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 84k miles, approximately 100 of which were added under current ownership.

The 5.0-liter High Output V8 produced 225 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque when new. Saleen added a strut tower brace to the engine bay, and the Saleen Autosport chassis tag can be seen up close in the gallery. The rear main seal leaks and service in 2026 consisted of flushing the cooling system, replacing the heater core and battery, and performing an oil change.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Borg-Warner T-5 five-speed manual transmission and a Traction-Lok limited-slip differential with 3.55:1 gearing. A Ford Racing H-pipe has been installed.

Of the wiring harness, fuel system, dashboard and the rest of the interior, Original doors, original hood, original fenders, original trunk lid, steering wheel, front bumper.

It was stripped and being converted to a race car by a previous owner, then they gave up on it. I bought it to put back together, then found a more complete car, so I'm letting this clean shell go. Now is your chance to move it forward!

Has an 8.8 rear and already installed. The remaining sheet metal is in really good shape, no rust that I can find. The front floors have been patched well in the past.

Comes with a set of rusty doors, dented hood, minor dented fenders, and rusty trunk lid for asking price.
