The Auto Archaeologist

The Auto Archaeologist Hunting old cars in a variety of neglected situations. Barn Finds, Junkyards, Garage Storage! I've been to them all.

My name is Ryan Brutt, I travel around the country (eh mostly mid-west) documenting cool cars in neglected situations. Be it a Barn Find, Junkyard Find or sitting in someones garage for 40 years, I hope to be there to document a piece of history that is few and far in between.

This was a complete surprise last year on Hot Rod Power Tour. Just following the route and there was a farm fresh 1970 Challenger. The guy was super cool and let me check it out. Since the video he has fixed all the rusty sheet metal on the car!

This 1968 HEMI SuperBee was rescued from a junkyard years ago, and just yesterday got dropped off for a full restoration! They were even able to find the original, numbers matching engine!

I'll keep everyone posted as it goes.

Dropped a follow up video, with some more in depth info on cars I hadn't notice before from my friend Steve's place. Including a rare 1970 Challenger R/T Convertible, 440 4-bbl, 4-speed car!

On this episode, we're in Missouri checking in on some cool barn find muscle cars. We uncovered several rare Mopar E-bodies stuffed away in the building, in...

Hot Rod Power Tour is coming up fast. And I just dropped the full itinerary for our MoPowered Tour on the page. This is going to be an epic trip.

Who remembers this I think 50s Dodge Semi that was just sitting in the weeds in Indiana. Never seen one like that!

This 1970 Challenger R/T convertible sat in a St. Louis for decades slowly being parted out. Until my friend "rescued" it to pilfer some of the rare convertible parts left on it. You can see a lot more of this car in the drop on Monday.

This was the last car in the row from the drop on Monday. This was a fairly ok 1966 Mustang Fastback. Was a 289 car, but no idea if it was a K-Code or anything. Looked like a good project.

This poor 1967 Chevelle SS 396 was rescued from the scrapper. You can see it better in the full drop on Monday.

This Chevelle had a hard hit to the back. But the restoration shop that owns it plans to restore it. Hopefully that comes true!

This was a neat one to uncover in the video Monday. A friend has the best twin to this car sitting in his yard. I thought it was the same until I got close to it.

Another car from the drop on Monday.

This time it was a 1970 Plymouth GTX that needed a bit of work. It was either going to be restored, or turned into a Superbird tribute.
