A car takeover outside Ford City Mall turned deadly Friday night after gunfire erupted among a crowd gathered near 76th Street and Cicero Avenue. Videos from the scene show spectators running for safety as shots rang out. One man was struck multiple times and later died from his injuries. The shooting has renewed concerns about safety around the mall, where residents and local officials have raised alarms about ongoing criminal activity and large gatherings.
Chicago Police are investigating.
