I make things in the corner of a garage I call a workshop, and it works. You can do anything you put your mind and hands to.

This is the 3rd or 4th chair I've ever started, but the first one I've ever finished. Made this for myself for in the shop. Despite the flat bottom, you feel like you melt into it, or at least I do since it's dimensions are made just for me.

Design is based on the staked chair from The Anarchist's Design Book, and shaping of the seat bottom from one of the recent Irish box chairs.

Love the way the sapwood on the seat bottom looks. 😍😍🥰🥰

Just realized I only posted finished pics of this jewelry box for the mother in law on my story. If you missed it, here ya go!

So incredibly happy with how this thing turned out!
•
All brass hardware on the interior was entirely shop-made and the exterior hardware was custom patina'ed by me.
•
Woods include ebony, black and white ebony, quilted maple, and makore. Back of the left side is gilded/gold leafed with 23k gold.

Another day, another protest for change. This one was the Drag March for Change in the Boystown neighborhood. Had to have been at least 20k people in attendance, if not more.
•
Had a couple extra hands and an extra vehicle this time around so we were able to setup stations on either side of the street towards the end of the march. We came dangerously close to running out of supplies by the end but we had just enough to get through the whole march.
•
Kind of amazing there is so little focus on these protests in the media now because they are very much still happening and dont seem to be slowing down in the least.
•
Juneteenth is next weekend which we are expecting to be huge for this, so now begins the planning and logistics. If anyone wants to help either monetarily or with their hands/vehicle feel free to shoot me a DM. Of the $980 we raised in 24 hours we are down to about $400 after two weeks of doing this protest support/mutual aid.

Super successful day out on the protest route! We were able to setup my friends van in 3 separate locations along the route by using scanners/twitter/social media/etc. to make sure we were able to get ahead of the police and protestors to keep people hydrated and energized. It is seriously the least we can do for a movement as important as this.
•
Doing it again tomorrow and for the foreseeable future.
•
So far, all funds for this have pretty much come out of my own pocket (aside from a couple gracious protestors who gave us some cash as they passed and told us to continue doing this).
•
If anyone would like to donate to this grassroots thing my friends and I are doing, send me a DM and I will provide you with my venmo/paypal. I will provide receipts for supplies to anyone who asks, if you need that sort of verification. Any funds raised beyond what we need will be donated to a worthy cause/organization related to this modern civil rights movement. Please comment below saying you sent a DM, or something to that affect, so I dont miss your message.

Happy birthday to my absolutely wonderful wife !!! I fed her like the queen she is for her birthday because this woman deserves it more than anyone I know. You are my favorite person and every day feels like something new. I love you baba. Happy 27th!

Been working on a building myself a custom bow saw the past couple weeks. The last pic is my inspiration, and subsequently not my work, but that's a general idea of what I'm shooting for. Only difference is I'm making the arms/uprights with ravens skulls instead of swan heads, cuz ya know, norse s**t.

Finish is Alfie Shine by .n.alfie over poppy oil (a oil suggested by Jim for a previous project, but worked extremely well here)

Seeing as how it's much later than expected, let's plan on tomorrow (Tuesday 12/17) for the flash auction. I have two which will be up for grabs.
•
I'm thinking the first auction will run from 5-7 pm CST, the second from 7:30-9:30 pm CST, unless anyone has a better suggestion? Each one will get an individual post and bidding will take place in the comments. Once bidding has finished on one, I will update the caption with the winner.
•
Never done one of these so I'm going to try my best to ensure it runs smooth as possible.
•

Felt like starting a new project tonight, despite the million others I currently have in progress.... oops.

At least this should be a quick one.
•
It's also my first dive into coopered work and I gotta say: coopering is satisfying as all hell!
•
Watching those gaps disappear as you roll your work up is a level of satisfaction few other things can satisfy once you've experienced it for the first time.

Beginning my first foray into the world of airbrushing. This is way more fun than I was expecting. This was the practice panel I carved for the ripple whiskey cabinet door, which I've been planning to turn into a piece of wall art since I made it.

Metallic/pearlized gold for the "valleys". The "peaks" will be a metallic/pearlized blue.
•
Wasn't expecting the grain to turn out so accentuated, but I'm really digging it!
•
Inspiration for airbrushing came from the work of . Give him a follow if you don't already!
