Well, looks like we were the first ones to ever snap a JXB rear sport axle. So that alone was a solid accomplishment.
After driving 1200 miles from Chicago to Florida with two S8s, being the first group through the gates at Bradenton Motorsports Park in 2026 was unreal. Putting together a freshly built transmission, finishing the car two days before leaving for the drive, then having to retune in Florida was an experience in itself.
My first dig race with the new combo, built trans and a high-stall converter resulted in snapping the right rear axle on the 1–2 shift. Huge shoutout to Andres Cao for saving the weekend with a spare and getting us back on track.
At that point, dig racing was done. We switched to roll racing only.
After working through a few small hiccups, I finally got the chance to line up against Gary in Bob’s A8 and that one wasn’t close. We pulled bus lengths, plain and simple. You can hear me having to get in and out of the throttle towards the end.. Not that it mattered.
Bringing two full weight S8s that far and putting them straight into competition says everything about what our goal was. Reliability first, performance second.
Long drive. New setups. The cars did exactly what they were built to do.
Also wanted to give Chris Clayton at C4 Tuning a shoutout for working on tuning these cars the day after the new year.
