Stay alert. Watch for children and buses 🚌

The Fox Chapel School District will begin classes tomorrow, Tuesday August 25th. Please watch for school busses with their flashing lights activated and stop accordingly. Allow yourself some extra time and drive carefully.

PA Vehicle Code violation 3345(a) states drivers must stop at least 10 feet from a stopped school bus with activated red lights and extended stop signal arms. They must remain stopped until the lights are deactivated and the stop arms are retracted. Violating this law can result in a $250 fine, a 60-day license suspension, and 5 points on the driver's license.

As summer winds down and school gets ready to start, our morning and afternoon commutes are about to look a little different.

Please build a few extra minutes into your schedule and be prepared for school buses, bus stops, crossing children, and a little extra traffic.

🚌 Slow down.

🛑 Stop when the bus stops.

👀 Watch for children who may not always be watching for you.

Those extra few minutes in your day are nothing compared to the importance of getting our kids to and from school safely.
