Western Alliance Team DUI Task Force
North Hills DUI Task Force
Immediate News Release

The North Hills DUI Task Force will be conducting DUI Enforcement detail during the weekend of June 19th – 21st. The North Hills DUI Task Force includes police from the communities of Bradford Woods Borough, Etna Borough, Hampton Twp, Indiana Twp, Marshall Twp, O’Hara Twp, Pine Twp, Richland Twp, Ross Twp, Shaler Twp, West Deer Twp, McCandless Twp, West View Borough, Millvale Borough, Aspinwall Borough, Reserve Township and Franklin Park Borough.

This is the Thirtieth year for the North Hills DUI Task Force and to date, 270 check points/roving DUI patrols have been conducted. There have been 2,300 individuals tested for DUI, and of those tested, 1085 have been arrested.

The purpose of the North Hills DUI Task Force is to save lives on the roadways and reduce injuries. Sobriety checkpoints are a proactive visual deterrent while also removing impaired drivers; roving or saturation patrols are traffic details with the main goal to spot and stop possible impaired drivers before they can cause harm to innocent unsuspecting motorists traveling on our roadways. Roving, Perimeter Patrols and or Saturation Patrols are often conducted to compliment a Stationary Checkpoint as well and apprehend those operators that try to avoid the checkpoint and subsequent arrest.

The North Hills DUI Task Force reminds all drivers over the age of 21 to be responsible and NEVER operate a motor vehicle while impaired. Read carefully all instruction labels on prescriptions or over the counter medications and make arrangements prior to consuming alcohol for a designated driver. Don’t risk arrest, injury or death.

A few of our residents have received phone calls from people claiming to be county Sheriff's. The person will then tell the potential victim that they have missed jury duty. The scum bag will then instruct the potential victim that they need to either deposit money into a crypto currency machine or they must go buy gift cards and then read the numbers from the card to the scum bag. It seems that they are targeting the older residents.

Please spread the word and tell your older family members or neighbors or anyone who will listen. Never ever send money (no matter who they say they are on the phone) to anyone via crypto machines, wire transfers, bank transfers or gift cards. Also please tell them to never share their full social security number, bank account numbers, credit card numbers or dates of birth with unknown people on the phone. Most reputable business and medical professionals will only ask for the last four numbers of a persons social security number. As always also tell them if they are unsure of who they are talking to and before they send anything, they are more than welcome to call the police department and speak with an officer.
