One of the best parts of traveling by van is having the flexibility to explore beyond the traditional campground.

The Bureau of Land Management offers camping opportunities on public lands across the country, including developed campgrounds and dispersed camping areas.

Before you settle in, always check the rules for the specific area you're visiting. Stay limits, fire restrictions, road conditions and where dispersed camping is permitted can vary by location.

Happy 110th Birthday, National Park Service!

On August 25, 1916, the National Park Service was created to help protect the places that generations of adventurers have come to explore.

The National Park Service includes more than 400 parks across the country, and August 25 is a pretty good excuse to start planning your next road trip.

Even better: In celebration of the National Park Service's 110th birthday, entrance fees are waived for U.S. citizens and residents at national parks on August 25.
