Weather update. To paraphrase the Yiddish proberb “I plan and God laughs”. I have been out and roads here are definitely passable but can be slick for quick starts and panic stops. Already got updates and photos from Signal and looks like we may have slightly more snow here on the ridge. That being said, it isn’t supposed to get above freezing today so I believe the safest option is to cancel. I know many could make it without issue but safety must supersede in this case. I will be emailing next week with the details for next weekend which is supposed to be sunny and 50 degrees. I appreciate everyone’s perseverance with the changes.

If we, God forbid, do have to cancel the only option that I can see is to do a Saturday and Sunday class next weekend 2/7 & 2/8 since the State of TN doesn't allow Zoom classes. We cannot cut more into the February class and that class could not handle the volume of make up students that would be from this class. Let's all hope and pray it doesn't come to that, I know from speaking to many of you that you want to get the classroom completed so that you can begin scheduling the in car sessions.
I appreciate the understanding and optimism we have gotten from the majority of you. We are dealing with weather which based on last week cannot be predicted with total reliability. Fortunately the positive responses have far outweighed the negativity. I will keep you posted.

We are planning, right now, to continue with class tomorrow. Hopefully this will continue to blow west as they are suggesting. I will be out early in the AM checking things and getting here to message people if need be. If you are in an area where you cannot make it please do not put yourself in danger. Instructors will be contacting students personally about driving sessions. I will post to Facebook first.

The weather has changed yet again. Canceling class today. We had no problem getting here but my concern is everyone getting home safely. We will bump todays class to next week and finish on Feb. 7th.

According to the most recent reports, we will not have any snow in most of the area. And freezing rain not starting until late afternoon on Saturday. With this information we do plan to go ahead as scheduled with class and in car sessions unless there are changes in the actual weather. Instructors may be canceling sessions as road conditions change so please be looking for phone calls if there are weather developments. If you live in an area of higher elevation and it is dangerous for you to get out, please do not put yourself in danger. if for any reason, you cannot make the classroom session tomorrow the make up day for day three will be February 21.

While it's difficult to predict weather with complete accuracy this one is looking to be the real deal and we are monitoring the reports. Our goal is always to respond to actual conditions rather than react to predictions. Students/parents will be contacted if the conditions are such that driving/classroom is unable to proceed as scheduled. However, if you live in an area that is more difficult or dangerous to be out then please notify us and do not endanger yourself by attempting to get out in bad road conditions. While we understand that everyone is on a schedule and wants to complete classroom and in car sessions, our ultimate concern is the safety of our students, parents and instructors.

While we try not to react to forecasted weather but to respond to actual current conditions, this one is looking to most likely be a pretty sure thing. If there is snow or worse ice then we will postpone class to the following Saturday and cancel all in car sessions which will be rebooked to soon as possible date in the near future. We will be calling all parents/students as conditions develop. Most importantly do not ever put yourselves in danger in snow or icy conditions.

It’s time. We have enough confidence that one of the most impactful winter storms Chattanooga has seen in a long time will impact us on January 24-25th.

There are still many questions. The models have drastically increased the amount of snow we could receive. The questions remains, will this be mostly snow or mostly ice. For my fellow Chattanooga residents, it looks like we will be right on the line.

Short range models are currently pushing 4”-6” and even 8”-10” of snowfall.

Whether we get heavy snow or not, I am not excited about the ice outlook for our viewing area.

The next few days are the time you have to gather everything together. Heaters, pre charge chargers, carbon monoxide detectors, food, WATER…

With this system being 4 days out we still have room to tweak the forecast, just know that no matter how we tweak it, big impacts to travel are very likely and our confidence is high.

I will have more details coming throughout the day. Please recieve your info from valid resources.
