Counterintuitive fact about car batteries: they fail in July more than they fail in January. Cold weather gets the blame because that's when the symptom shows up, but the damage that kills the battery happens in the summer. Heat boils off the electrolyte, corroding the internals. If your battery is over three years old and you'd rather skip the "click click click" surprise in a parking lot somewhere, get it tested. Takes us five minutes and we'll tell you the truth either way.

Consider this your reminder to crack a window. And maybe get one of those silver windshield reflector things. They look ridiculous, but they work.

Half the A/C complaints we hear in June sound the same: "it used to blow cold and now it doesn't." Two out of three times, that's a slow refrigerant leak from a tiny crack somewhere in a line, a fitting, or the condenser. We can find it with dye and UV in about an hour. Then we fix the leak. Adding refrigerant to a leaking system is a temporary trick that wastes your money and ours.
