Just a few things: For those of you that continue to show support, we are so incredibly thankful for you. The team behind this isn’t some major corporation, it’s made up car enthusiasts just like you. Before we became the team running the event, we were attending these shows, some of us even when it was held at Northlake Mall! The growth we’ve seen over the years, especially these last few, has been incredible. We’ve attended similar car shows all over the US, and are still blown away by the car community here in Charlotte. With that being said, we do sometimes think it’s forgotten that this show is made for car enthusiasts. This isn’t a best-of-the-best show, it’s an event for anyone who is proud of their car. Yes, we underestimated how many were going to be at this new location, but this was our first event back in 6 months. We unfortunately have no dress rehearsal for an event like this, so we do our best during the event and make the changes we can before the next. Due to videos that show off things we don’t condone, it makes it incredibly difficult for us to be given the okay for a location. And it’s not just finding a lot big enough, there’s insurance and all kinds of other things we have to take care of also. We are so thankful to CPCC for allowing us to use their venue, and aside from the traffic, Saturday was one of the best days we’ve had. Thank you to everyone that followed the rules and were respectful. We truly hate that some of you were turned away. As we’ve already said, we put this event on for you, the community. We never wanted to have to turn anyone away, but we were requested to for safety reasons. We absolutely understand your frustration if you didn’t get to the lot. We are already back to the drawing board to make this work, we have been all week. We see your comments, and without going into detail, a lot we’ve already been through, to no avail. But that doesn’t mean that we aren’t trying. The number one change we can guarantee moving forward is more portable restrooms. We only had two at our last location, and there was rarely a line, so there was no way we could anticipate the usage for them on Saturday. We do greatly apologize for that.
