1996 Honda Prelude in today for A/C service and repairs. Needs the ac thermostat replaced after a test failed using the factory Honda service manual.
With the A/C working, or not.

Last week Monday, I had this 1984 Honda Civic 1500 S brought all the way from Oregon straight to my door to see what the condition was going to be after sitting for 12 years up north.
Rust was my first thought, second was the carburetor. Turns out that neither was trouble. Checking the basics like fluids, belts and hoses. All in great shape, full fluids, all rubber was soft and not hard as stone as if it were an Arizona vehicle.
Checking ignition timing I found that it had the wrong distributor cap installed. I'm still scratching my head on how it was even running?
This is where the fun begins. Trying to find correct 42 year old parts. I had to pull my parts catalog out multiple times. Had the cap the next morning. I was still on the fence about the carburetor, added 3 gallons fresh gas and turned the key. It had a few issues at first, but once it warmed up it was holding a pretty good idle at 1,000 rpm. Enough for me to trust driving it a mile or so in the neighborhood to test the clutch, and shake some cobwebs off.
Was given the green light to proceed with other, mostly maintenance repairs.
Timing belt/water pump kit with cam and crankshaft seals, thermo-stat. Valve adjustment, front brake rotors and pads, rear shoe's/drums are good. Pair of C.V. axles, engine and transmission oil change. Turn the key, fine adjustment for timing and idle. Done. Never had to open the carburetor. What a GEM of a Civic!

I have my 1998 Acura Integra here today. I don't own it fiscally anymore, but it was mine years ago before I sold it in 2018 to a great customer of mine. I purchased it in 2014 from the 2nd owner, after 4 years of service with her and I. First service I did was back in 2010.
The water pump started leaking out of nowhere.
I paid a fair price for the Integra back then, knowing I can replace the water pump and timing belt. I owned it close to 4 years personally. Now it's back!
The customer I purchased it from still comes to me with her Honda Fit. I told her a about the Integra and she is just amazed it's still around! Very happy to know it still lives.
Overheat, but no harm done.

You never know what a customer's car looks like when setting the appointment for inspection and a noise at idle only.
I always think the worst looking, bearly alive, running who knows how, type of vehicle.
This little guy, with the white wall tires is just absolutely amazing!
1990 Dodge Omni 2.2 liter non-turbo. 89,447 miles showing. I believe it has a broken flex plate (flywheel)? Has noise like a rod bearing or piston pin wear. Did a test by disabling one cylinder at a time when running. I expected to be able and tell the difference in noise at idle, but stayed the same. Makes no noise holding at 2,000 to 2,500 rpm or at cruise, even when coasting to a stop.

A 2006 Acura RXS type S, was in today. Another long time customer of mine suggested coming over.
This one has very low mileage of 125,152, and is a 6 speed manual transmission.

I'm out driving my 1977 Honda Civic 1500 cvcc today.
Proper tags, insurance, and new tires. I have about 150 miles now since doing the unconventional head gasket repair.
Got on the freeway and didn't get run over by faster cars only because I was able to get to 75-80 mph, with room to spare (faster).
Drove thru downtown Chandler, it was crowded and traffic going 15 mph. It passed the idle testing for "Does it Overheat"? Nope! The radiator fan came on temp gauge dropping.
I have about another month to drive as much as possible before the thrill is gone. Won't be able to drive once the outside temps go passed 105 degrees. Until Fall weather, around November.

3 of the 4 tires are here! Next week early I should see the missing one.
This weekend I think I will take my 93 Suburban for a look at Apache Trail passed, Tortilla Flats over "Fish Hill Creek" heard it was opened to 4x4 traffic heading to Apache Lake.
If conditions are looking good! I may break a few rules taking my Civic 1500 thru after the tires are on next week. I woukd like to re-live some past times.
I don't plan on hurting myself. Not so sure about the Civic?

Finnally after 2 1/2 hours today at AZ-MVD, to correct my paper's on the Civic's. I have proper title, registration and plates for each one. The wait time could have been less only if I agreed to pay another $49.62 to tag the 77 1500 Civic. I was tolded it would take time to reenter the information on the back system to get things back to were it was a week ago and that I would have to wait for it to download before they could continue.
It wasn't the dollar amount that upset me so much, but the fact that they made a mistake and didn't want to do their jobs.
I was holding up the line with my insisting I wasn't going to pay another dime to correct the mistakes made last week. The desk manager tried multiple times to convince me that I was going to have to pay again no matter what.
I asked her what happened to my $28.56 that I had paid for renewing the registration in December of 2024 on the 1200 Civic that made those tags good till December of 2025. Was told she (manager) doesn't see that? Only that the tags are good till March of 2026 that are on it now. Gee, imagine that........I just re-register it for no reason last week, but the system on the counter server doesn't show past history's.
All said and done and I have a credit of $8.34 on my account to be used towards any vehicle I have registered (5) next time any come up for renewal.
Now all I have to do? Is figure out were my two missing tires have gone to?

Monday, after I finish this 2013 Acura TLX, for the neighbor across the street, and his oil change with inspection, in the morning, which will be the third oil change I have performed, there shouldn't be anything wrong? We repaired my concerns from the last two times.
I plan on hitting up Az-MVD, to try and correct paper's on the 1977 Civic 1500 cvcc.
I won't know about were my two missing tires are at in till Tuesday,
I was tolded by Tireeasy that it would take till then to figure it out and make it right.
Saturday, I got the plates in the mail, which are registered under the wrong vin number. I didn't even open the thick envelope they came in.

First it's Arizona MVD, with trying to register my 1977 Honda Civic 1500 cvcc to make it legal to drive on the city streets after 14 years. They got it wrong and I re-register my 1200 again. My Hagerty collectors insurance has the correct vin numbers for both Civic's, so I'm covered there in case of a mishap. I still need to go over to MVD and correct the paperwork.
I order new tires, (4) for the 1500, five days ago. Each tracking number had two tires per number. Today I got one tire delivered from each tracking numbers. The emails are stating that your order has been completed and delivered.

Glad this customer wasn't in a rush! I had to bring out my "It's Going To Come Off Tool".
1991 Honda Accord EX Wagon with a 5 speed transmission. Put some heat to it with my mini-pen torch, hit it with the tool about 40 seconds. Didn't think it was going to budge, but I finally saw it move. Cleaned it up to fit once again on a 14mm socket or box wrench on the bench grinder.
Back together as far as all the front engine seals, water pump, timing belt, balancer belt and both tensioner. Great stopping point.
In the morning I can finish the outside. Going to be so much better with the new timing belt covers.
