Revolution rear axle kits ship with the bearings, seals, and retainers already pressed on, which is great for DIYers! The wheel studs are included too, and those do need pressing in.

Run your thumb across a new ring gear or pinion and it feels glass smooth. Under magnification, it isn't. Nothing cut by a machine ever is. ⚙️

Those microscopic peaks are friction. Friction is heat, noise, and metal in your gear oil.

REM isotropic finishing knocks them down while preserving the valleys that hold your oil film. Geometry and tooth profile don't change. 🌀 Same gear, better surface. Cooler, quieter, longer life.

Bent wheel flanges are one of the JK's signature failures, and the 2018+ platform quietly addressed it in two different ways.

Tech Tim from Northridge4x4 points out that the Gladiator JT and the Rubicon JL run the larger Set 80 wheel bearing, the same bearing you'd find in a Dana 60, and that the non-Rubicon JL keeps the smaller Set 10 bearing but with a reduced offset. Either way, fewer bent flanges than the JK generation...especially once you step up to a 4340 chromoly shaft. 😎
