This Flood Warning is a result of excessive rainfall over the past week...
The Flood Warning continues for
the Kaskaskia River at Carlyle TW
* until Monday May 15.
* At 10:00 AM Monday the stage was 424.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 423.5 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* The river is forecast to crest near 424.1 feet by this evening,
then fall below flood stage late Sunday morning.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

The National Weather Service will monitor
this developing situation and issue follow up statements as
conditions or forecasts change.

Safety message: Never drive cars, trucks, or sport utility vehicles
through flooded areas. The water may be too deep to allow for safe
passage.

This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of eastern and
central Missouri as well as west central and southwest Illinois.
DAY ONE, Today and Tonight

Flooding is occurring along several rivers in central and eastern
Missouri and western Illinois. Some river basins will continue to
experience major river flooding.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN, Tuesday through Sunday

A few strong to severe thunderstorms are possible Wednesday
afternoon and evening.

Major river flooding will continue across parts of eastern
Missouri and western Illinois this week.
