With the forecast of crazy winter weather please remember
⭐️ STAY OFF OF THE ICY ROADS. If you don’t HAVE to be on the roads then don’t.
⭐️ DO NOT MOVE OR GO AROUND BARRICADES ON BRIDGES. Those barricades are there to protect you.
⭐️WATCH YOUR STEPS WALKWAYS AND EXPOSED CONCRETE.
It will freeze just like bridges and overpasses. DO NOT POOR HOT WATER ON IT, this just makes more ice. Sprinkle salt.
⭐️DO YOUR SHOPPING EARLY. Don’t wait until the weather has arrived to go to get supplies.
⭐️CHECK ON YOUR ELDERLY NEIGHBORS.
AND REMEMBER THE 4P’s PEOPLE, PETS, PIPES AND PLANTS.

PLEASE AVOID THE AREA

Joor Road is completely shutdown between Mickens Road & Lovett Road for a major motor vehicle accident.

At 9:14pm, a vehicle with a single occupant was traveling south on the 7500 block of Joor Road and appears to have crossed the center line into the path of a northbound vehicle occupied by three individuals. Central Police, EBR Sheriff’s Office, Louisiana State Police, Central Fire Department and East Baton Rouge EMS remain on scene.

Joor Road will remain closed for several more hours.

Give DOTD the time they need to get a handle on the situation.
If you move or go around the barricade and get stuck, your vehicle will be there for a while.
