💥Wednesday Check In!!💥
This 2016 Challenger 5.7L came in on what was supposed to be an “E85 only” tune. (Non Flex Fuel 🌽 ) The customer had bought the car like this and being that refueling with E85 just isn’t convenient in his location, wanted to put it back on 93.
Let’s just say it likes the 93 more than it did the E85. 😏
The car only has a CAI and Exhaust (Stock manifolds) as it’s current performance modifications.
I made one pull as it drove in on and then loaded our custom 93 tune, refueled it with 93, made a pull and as you can see it noticeably improved.
297rwhp vs 364rwhp 😳
Now usually you pickup power going the other way (93–>E85) but something was off, and while data logging it was clear the fueling wasn’t correct. Which can be from many factors, but one I want you to consider is when running an E85 only tune. You’re going to have to test the fuel you’re putting in because E10/E50/E70/E85/E100 will all have different fueling requirements and if your setup on X you can’t use anything but that and Pump E85 is not consistent. And changes seasonally.
Which is where Flex Fuel plays a huge part. Flex fuel systems allow you to switch from 93 to E85 without constantly tuning the vehicle for said ethanol content due to the sensor making those changes for you.
If you’d like to know more about Flex Fuel systems and if your vehicle could benefit from one, feel free to reach out. 😎
Expect to see an update on the Z28 tomorrow, the WS6 to follow after that, then wrap up the ACE’s EFI install on the OBS.
Lastly I wanted to thank you all for the support!! I’m blessed I get to be a part of it whether it’s from building it or just adding the finishing touch. 🫡🇺🇸
