The new engine is done! Out with the old 145 van engine and in with the new 164 cbinch 140hp.

Back in July I picked up the drivetrain from this van. I stripped it down rebuilt the diff. We got a rebuilt transmission new input shaft rebuilt 140 heads from California. I took the engine into Sperry Engine to have the parts rebuilt. The week before I did this I quit my day job. I spent the summer having fun working for myself. I put my 63 van back on the road. Went to the van Nationals van show. In September I ended up going to work at Sperry Engines. I have to say thank you to Scott Sperry for all that he has showed me. I have learned so much and have a lot to learn. But out of all the Corvair engines I have built this one I took the most time on and it shows. This engine is going in a 8 door panel van. Also thank you to the Corvair Ranch, California Corvair and Clark's for all the parts. It gets delivered and installed this Saturday.

It was nice to have a day to work on this. We are super close to firing it up and sending it to its new home.

So much work But it was worth it. It was done just in time for the wedding.

I have three early van/station wagon engines if anybody needs one. One of those engines is a GM replacement with no serial numbers.

I know someone is going to ask...i have one fc 64 block and no I don't want to sell it.
