🔥 BURN BAN IN EFFECT FOR AUSTIN COUNTY 🔥

Effective immediately, Austin County has issued a Burn Ban due to dry conditions and increased fire danger.

🚫 No outdoor burning allowed — this includes trash, brush, and open campfires

⚙️ Welding, cutting, or grinding is only allowed if:
- Wind speed is under 15 mph
- The Sheriff’s Office is notified before starting
- A 50-foot area is cleared of combustibles
- A spotter with water is on site

✅ Allowed: Above-ground cooking grills in a safe, debris-free area

Violations are a Class C Misdemeanor with fines up to $500.

Please help keep our community safe by following these guidelines and reporting any unauthorized burning or signs of fire immediately to Austin County Sheriff’s Office or 911.
