22 6.7 powerstroke in the shop today for a CEL and the truck constantly high idling/ engine warming even with ambient temp at 90+ degrees.The customer recently installed an aftermarket oil filter housing for a larger cat oil filter. Pulled the codes and showed communication errors with the oil temp/ pressure sensor. We unplugged the sensor and found the connector to be corroded pretty bad. Checked continuity on the connector and found it was very intermittent (supposed to be 5V and it was all over the place). Before we could diag the sensor we went ahead and replaced the pigtail so we could start with a good connection. Once replaced the codes still remained. Tested the sensor with the connector plugged in and found the sensor not responding. Replaced with a Ford oem sensor. Codes went away and truck is showing proper oil temp and pressure now.
