Replacing your vehicle's fuel filter at regular intervals is a key factor in maintaining your vehicle's fuel efficiency and prolonging the life of your vehicle's fuel pump.
Some modern vehicles don't have serviceable fuel filters, but most still do. These fuel filters are usually tucked away under the vehicle and mounted to the frame in an inconvenient place for your average garage tools to service. Plus, unlike most filters, fuel filters are completely encased in metal so checking the condition of the fuel filter is impossible.
Neglecting to replace or waiting too long to replace a serviceable fuel filter will put extra stress on your vehicle's fuel pump as well. In some cases, it can even cause the fuel pump to fail. Because of this, Earl's Repair recommends replacing fuel filters at regular service intervals. With North Dakota's harsh seasons of hot and cold, we recommend replacing your vehicle's fuel filter once per year to make sure no water content builds up and causes problems.
