Don’t wait until you’re almost empty to look for a fuel stop.

When you’re towing an RV, the closest gas station isn’t always the best gas station.

Before a travel day, look ahead at your route and plan fuel stops with your entire rig in mind. Satellite view can help you check:

⛽ How the pumps are positioned
🚐 Whether there’s enough room to get in AND back out
↩️ If you’ll have to make a tight turn around the building
🚗 Where cars are likely to stack up
🛣️ Whether there’s an easy return to your route

Truck stops and larger travel centers are often easier to navigate with a long rig—but even then, knowing your entrance and exit before you pull in can save a whole lot of stress.

Before you book a campsite, check which direction it faces.

That shady-looking site at 9 AM can be sitting in full sun by late afternoon—right when you’re trying to cool down the RV and enjoy your campsite.

Before booking, pull up the campground on satellite view and look for:

🌳 Mature tree coverage
☀️ Where the afternoon sun will hit your RV
🏕️ Which side your awning and outdoor living area will face
📏 How much open space surrounds the site

If you’re camping during hot weather, a site with protection from the western afternoon sun can make a noticeable difference in both your outdoor space and how hard your A/C has to work.
