Check out this thing. Some more Oklahoma wildlife. Came out of the front door and got my tower buzzed by this thing. It’s about 2 inches long and there were two of them. Got this one and haven’t seen the other one.. on that note.
This is the Eastern Cicada Killer

The Eastern cicada killer (Sphecius speciosus) is a large, solitary digger wasp that preys on cicadas, paralyzing them with a sting and provisioning them in underground burrows for its larvae to eat. Despite their intimidating size (up to 2 inches) and appearance, they are not aggressive towards humans, and only females can sting, which they rarely do unless provoked. They are considered beneficial insects as they help control cicada populations and are pollinators, often nesting in sunny, well-drained soil.

I kinda felt bad after reading this for taking this one out. It was so fast I couldn’t see what it looked like until I actually knocked it out of the air. Just figured I’d share a little more Oklahoma wildlife.
