Ridge 26 Recap:
We made the trek to Washington to compete at Ridge Motorsport Park with Global Time Attack. We brought a total of 5 cars, our limited class car (Big Car), Small Car, Sergio’s 16 STI in Street Class, Paul’s 05 STI in limited class (due to 3way suspension and Carly’s 07 STI (Street Class). It was a new track for all of us.
On Friday’s test we used Small Car to use the track and everyone was getting familiar with the incredible track that is The Ridge. On the last session of the day we took Big Car out for a system’s check.
On Saturday’s morning everyone felt more comfortable to push and everyone kept dropping time. With every session we learned more and more about Big Car and setting up suspension settings to the shaved weight and new aero package. Our biggest challenge was not being able to get the tires up operating temperature, running the Nankang CRS 315s which caused the car to slide in all high speed corners and lose grip in the sweeping turns. Turbo Joe (Turbo Joe Tuned) was checking each log after each run, and making changes bettering the car.
On Sunday morning feeling more comfortable with the track we turned up the power to 600whp which allowed us to lay down a 1:39.2 which landed us in 3rd place in limited class. Sergio cracked into the 40s with a 1:48.0, Carly put down a 1:50.2 with no aero, and Paul put down a 1:51.0 with no aero for what may be the last track day of the GD as it will be swapped into Paul’s widebody GC8.
There is a lot of room for development of Big Car which is very exciting.
The weekend was exciting and filled with high speed (top of 6th gear 😬) laughter and time spent with family and friends! Thank you Global Time Attack for throwing a spectacular event!
Now we have our sights on Laguna Seca with Gridlife
