What an awesome accomplishment for all three schools and the students, teachers, staff, and families who helped make it happen! 👏❤️

We’re especially proud of Central Elementary and Central Middle — home to many of our Cedar Village students! 🦁 Go Lions! ❤️🎓

Congratulations to three schools from the Carroll County School System -- Central Elementary School, Central Middle School, Carrollton, Georgia, and Roopville Elementary School -- which have been recognized as Title I Distinguished Schools by the Georgia Department of Education! September is National Preparedness Month — and we’re also in the heart of hurricane season. 🌀🏡 Just because we’re not on the coast doesn’t mean we can’t feel the effects of a hurricane or tropical storm. Heavy rain, strong winds, flooding, and power outages can reach well inland.

Now is a good time to make sure your household is prepared:

🔹 Know where you’ll go if severe weather threatens
🔹 Keep an emergency kit stocked and ready
🔹 Secure outdoor furniture, grills, trash cans, and other loose items
🔹 Keep phones and backup batteries charged
🔹 Have a plan for your pets, too

A little preparation now can make a big difference when severe weather strikes.

Be smart. Be prepared. Be safe.
